Radio Yako was founded by Chimwemwe Ncozana, fourth born son of the Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Ncozana.Radio Yako was launched on 24th of July 2006 which made it Malawi's first live internet in Malawi. Since Radio Yako was discovered by Malawian's around the globe, they have felt that somehow their nation has for the first time been represented in this amazing media of the Internet. Malawian's have shown much support and pride to this new development..

Radio Yako streams live from 4 countries, United States of America (RY1 Main Station) Malawi (RY2), Sweden (RY3), United Kingdom (R.Y4) and is hoping to be streaming from South Africa soon.

Radio Yako broadcasts 100% Malawian music. The sound quality is very good as far as our listeners have commented. Radio Yako does not use any explicit language. It is designed to have families gather around their computers and enjoy the sounds of the warm heart of Africa, Malawi.

All our shows are in Chichewa ( Malawi's National Language). This makes Radio Yako even more unique. It is our Malawian pride that we use to make us who we are today.
